Once again about scent marketing. A short-lived trend or a powerful communication medium?

26 June 2025 15:00
Free

On June 26 at 3 p.m., Kultūros fabrikas invites cultural representatives, creators, and young businesses to participate in a practical entrepreneurship seminar entitled "Once Again About Scent Marketing: A Short-Term Trend or a Powerful Communication Medium?"

The seminar will be led by Edita Vygelytė, producer of original perfume brands and educator in perfume culture.

The possibilities of scent marketing (also known as aroma marketing, olfactory marketing, or scent marketing) have been discussed in the Lithuanian market for more than a decade, but we still cannot point to many successful and exemplary examples of scent marketing. The olfactory positioning of goods, services, and objects lags significantly behind positioning through text and images, with this particularly effective means of stimulating the consumer experience being considered unnecessary.

According to user experience research, a unique olfactory brand identity helps businesses retain up to 84% of repeat customers, improves the customer experience by 70%, and provides an opportunity to increase business revenue by up to 20%.
It is predicted that soon the olfactory logo of a brand will be as relevant as the visual one, and the olfactory (smell) experience will rapidly integrate into virtual space with the help of innovations.

In these practical/experiential workshops, we will explore the broad and untapped possibilities of aroma positioning and consumer emotional loyalty building through a well-constructed brand olfactory identity.

– The system of brand archetypes according to Carl Jung and Carol S. Pearson / Margaret Mark ("The Hero and the Outlaw," 2001). Old, good, effective!
– What scent marketing tools are already available on the Lithuanian market? Also – striking examples of olfactory identity and aroma marketing in the Lithuanian and global context.
– How to identify and construct a brand's olfactory identity without falling prey to destructive subjective interpretations and the influence of perfumery trends?
– A practical session on refining olfactory identity, using a system of 12 archetypes for brands and olfactory tools – perfume molecules (individual perfume ingredients), synthetically recreated aromas of deconstructed bouquets of wine scents, and conceptual perfume creations.
– All questions in the fields of olfactory literacy and perfumery culture that you have not found answers to elsewhere.

KUFA Monday coffee with Matima Studio

31 March 2025 10:00
Free

March 31, 10:00 a.m. As usual – Monday coffee.☕
This time, we will be joined by Marius Narbutaitis, a KUFA resident, one of the founders of Matima Studio, a visual effects specialist and creator who has seen not only the bright side of the creative process, but also (as you may have guessed from the visual) its very dark side.

Marius will present his talk "Dark, Deep Pit" – a story about the pitfalls of perfectionism, the behind-the-scenes of creativity, and how you can get stuck in development hell for a long time. You will also hear about vaporware projects and why some developers choose to "perfect until death" instead of "launch and improve along the way." 🙂

Thank you, Marius, for this "bright and optimistic" visual. 🙂

We can't wait to hear it live!

KUFA Monday Coffee | Creativity with algorithms: how are AI and XR changing creativity?

07 April 2025 10:00
Free

This time, KUFA Monday Coffee features coffee and future creativity. Technology is increasingly entering the world of creativity, but will it replace creators or become their partners in creativity?

On April 7 at 10:00 a.m., KUFA residents invite you to an open discussion about the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR) technologies in creativity. XR is a general term that encompasses virtual (VR), augmented (AR), and mixed reality (MR) technologies, which allow for the creation of entirely new forms of artistic expression. XR is a general term that encompasses virtual (VR), augmented (AR), and mixed reality (MR) technologies, which enable the creation of entirely new forms of artistic expression.

This Monday, we will meet with two creators and practitioners from the KUFA community:

Darius Šoparas, CEO of Synaptic AI, will share his insights on how AI can inspire, complement, or even take over some creative functions.

Mantas Pronckus, head of Play Life Creative Studio, will talk about the application of XR technologies in creativity – from interactive stories to virtual reality films.

We welcome everyone who is interested in creativity, technology, or simply wants to learn how the world changes when art and science come together.

A session of young gong sounds

13 April 2025 19:00

Would you like to experience the unique effect offered by gong sound therapy?

It is more than relaxation – it is deep inner work based on scientific research. Gong therapy, combining powerful vibrations and ancient sounds, helps restore balance in the body and mind, creating space for emotional release and physical recovery.

Did you know that gong sound therapy is recognized by science and has a real effect on the body and mind?

🔬 Scientific facts:

Stress reduction and emotional calm:
Studies show that participants experience up to a 70% reduction in stress levels after gong therapy sessions, and the mind reaches a deep state of relaxation compared to vibroacoustic massages (Oguy, 2022).

Pain relief: The sounds
of gongs affect the body's cells and tissues like a gentle massage, which reduces physical discomfort. This is similar to the results of Lian Gong practices, where participants report reduced pain and improved physical condition (Randow et al., 2017; Nascimento et al., 2012).

Emotional recovery:
Vibrations promote relaxation of the fascia—this connective tissue stores accumulated emotions, which can be released during therapy, paving the way for inner harmony (Randow et al., 2017).

Deeper self-understanding: During
the session, the mind is freed from everyday chaos, allowing the brain to enter a theta wave state—ideal for creativity and introspection (Sobo, 2024).

The importance of community:
Although the session focuses on individual relaxation, researchers emphasize the importance of collective experiences that promote a deeper emotional connection with the environment (Sobo, 2024).

What to expect during the session?

The sounds of the gongs will fill the space with powerful vibrations that penetrate every cell of the body. These vibrations reduce tension, harmonize internal rhythms, and promote emotional and physical recovery. During the session, you will feel your mind enter a state of deep relaxation, allowing you to release stress and discover inner peace.

KUFA Reading Room | On the real and imagined history of Lithuania with historian Norbertas Černiauskas

17 April 2025 18:00
Free

Klaipėda Culture Factory invites you once again to talk about good books and discuss their imagination-stirring ideas. On Thursday, April 17, at 6 p.m., the KUFA Reading Room will host historian and Vilnius University lecturer Norbertas Černiauskas, whose books offer unexpected perspectives on learning about (and imagining) Lithuanian history. The author will present his book "Lithuania in the 16th Century: A Historical Panorama," which is a collection of articles written for the 2015 Lithuanian History Yearbook.

Fado. A Brief History of Lithuania That Never Happened is the latest book by N. Černiauskas, in which the historian has chosen an unusual way of talking about the past. In this work, the author depicts a Lithuania that never existed and seeks answers to the question: what if?

The author invites us to imagine what Lithuania would look like if the country had avoided the horrors of World War II and occupation. To imagine that the life of an independent state continued, full of political realities, economic reforms, sports competitions, and rock 'n' roll revelry. This is a book about an unfulfilled history, an alternative version of Lithuania's past that stirs the imagination. It is a story of longing and nostalgia for a time that could have been but did not happen, like a sensual and melancholic fado song.

Another book by historian N. Černiauskas, 1940. The Last Summer of Lithuania, which won the 2021 Book of the Year award in the journalism and documentary category, attracted no less interest from readers. This documentary work is a kaleidoscope of two weeks in June 1940, offering a vivid insight into the realities of Lithuania and its people at that time. In June 1940, the people of Lithuania were planning their harvest, holidays, graduations, and their future. Nevertheless, gathered around their radios, newspapers, or dairies, men discussed the German march towards Paris and pondered how the tide of war would turn.

Living in a tense geopolitical situation, conversations about the past, real and imagined scenarios have become more interesting than ever. At the KUFA Reading Room, we will discuss Norbertas Černiauskas' books and look for parallels between the past and the present.

The event is free of charge, and everyone is welcome!

We live in a culture of post-reality and post-truth—an environment where it is no longer clear what can be considered reality. Today, when reality is constantly being rewritten and reimagined, art has the unique power to awaken, raise questions, and change our view of the world.

Artists, philosophers, and creators from various fields will speak at the forum, sharing their insights on how we perceive the relationship between reality, art, image, and creativity today.

Forum participants:

  • 11:00–12:00 — filosofas, kino režisierius, scenaristas dr. Nerijus Milerius
    Tema: „Aklosios zonos post-tiesos epochoje”

  • 14:00–15:00 — teatro režisierius, aktorius, verslo mentorius Žilvinas Beniušis
Tema: „Klounas: nuostabos džiaugsmas ir realybės paradoksas”
