Tango performance | Emigrants

This is the second joint creative work by Teatro Del Paso and Trio Unique.

Tango and emigrants are inseparable. Emigrants from Europe played a significant role in the emergence and development of this genre. Spanish habanera and flamenco, German bandoneon, which has now become one of the symbols of tango, Italian melancholic melodies and songs.

The passionate tango dance emerged as a refuge for lonely immigrants who missed their homes and loved ones. Most of the first tango dancers were immigrants seeking a sense of belonging and social interaction. The dance became a way to express the passion, longing, and connection that was missing in their everyday lives. The dance also helped them communicate with each other despite language barriers.

A play about the experiences of emigrants in a foreign land and the influence of those experiences on the development of this wonderful genre.
