The Forgotten Princesses

A play for children aged 4-10, skillfully and ingeniously telling the story of each child's uniqueness.

In this dance performance, inspired by the enchanting book "Forgotten and Unknown Princesses" by French authors Philippe Lechermeier and Rébecca Dautremer, the dancers embody highly unusual princesses and tell the story of the unique qualities that lie within each of us. Real-life situations are transferred to the world of princesses. Embodying highly unusual princesses on stage, the dancers tell the story of the unique and irreplaceable personality that lies within each of us. "In my performance, I invite you to discover the princess within yourself. Being a princess means being yourself. Feeling comfortable in your own skin, not feeling the need to copy anyone," says choreographer I. Kuznecova. The performance delves into the relevant topics of children's relationships, personality development, and bullying, so "Forgotten Princesses" will interest not only children, but also their parents and teachers.

In 2017, the performance was staged at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Dancer and choreographer Inga Kuznecova (born in 1986) graduated with a bachelor's degree in choreography from the Department of Choreography at the Faculty of Arts of Klaipėda University in 2010 and obtained a master's degree in dance in 2012. She also studied dance at the Stockholm Dance College (Sweden). Since 2014, Kuznecova has been teaching at Klaipėda University, is the director of the contemporary dance studio Jazz Up, and dances at the Šeiko Dance Theater. Over the past decade, Kuznecova has created four dance performances: Mikas ir pusryčiai (Mikas and Breakfast, 2010), Ir viskas klojosi kuo puikiausiai (And Everything Went Perfectly, 2012), Diagnozė – krepšinis (Diagnosis – Basketball) (2012), and Pamirštos princesės (Forgotten Princesses) (2016). The repertoire of this choreographer's performances, which is still relatively small, stands out for its diversity of genres and forms, with each performance featuring its own unique language of movement.
