Šeiko Dance Company: “Seasons,” a dance and live music performance

17 December 2026 19:00

Four seasons, four cellos, four radically different dancers.

The dance and live music performance “The Seasons” is the first collaborative work between the Šeiko Dance Company and the Klaipėda Cello Quartet, led by Mindaugas Bačkaus. Performed live by the cellists, one of the world’s most popular compositions—Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”—takes on a new, deconstructed form on stage.

The different seasons and elements are embodied here by performers who are unique in their respective fields and possess remarkably diverse styles of expression and physicality: the aristocratic ballerina Beata Molytė, Benas Šarka, known as the “theater shaman,” actor and mime Aleksas Mažonas, and Marius Pinigis, one of the most accomplished contemporary dancers of his generation.

Choreographer Agnija Šeiko masterfully coordinated the collaboration between these performers on stage while giving them ample freedom of self-expression. This creates an unexpected harmony of dance and music between the different performers on stage.
