Portraits in Words: LETTERS AT NIGHT
“Portraits of Words,” a joint initiative of the Culture Factory (KUFA) and “Word Lab,” returns with a new event: “Letters to the Night”
On August 27 at 8:00 p.m., we will wrap up this year’s series of poetry nights on the newly renovated KUFA rooftop terrace.
Event description:
There are words that are easier to write than to say.
“Letters for the Night” is a literary journey created by two actors. The evening will feature texts by Franz Kafka, Frida Kahlo, Marguerite Duras, and Oscar Wilde—letters, diary excerpts, and autobiographical prose.
Each part of the evening will begin with a single word.
I’M
AFRAID, I WANT
TO, I REMEMBER
, I FORGIVE
Four words. Four authors. Four different ways of talking about a person. Through the other—into oneself.
On stage are actors Justina Vanžodytė and Mikalojus Urbonas, whose voices will bring to life the poignant and authentic texts of world literature.
The event will take place on the renovated outdoor terrace of the Culture Factory. A summer evening, the open sky, and texts that sound best after dark. If the weather decides otherwise, we’ll move indoors to the cozy spaces of the Culture Factory.
Participation is free, but space is limited.
