Klaipėda Youth Theater: play "Life Still Ahead" (directed by Kirilas Glušajevas)
A joint creative work by Klaipėda Youth Theater and director Kirill Gluzhaev, artistic director of Kitas Kampas, the only professional improvisational theater in Lithuania – the play GYVENIMAS DAR PRIEŠ AKIS (Life Still Ahead).
When and how does adolescence begin? When and why does it end? Is a person who has reached the age of 18 already an adult? And when will they be an adult? What should you do if you are an adult at 13, and what if you don't feel independent at 18 or 30?
During a long and intense creative process, the creators of the performance interviewed dozens of people of different ages and sought answers to the question of how we all, individually and collectively, enter and exit adolescence. The recurring themes in the collected interviews will be combined with unique moments from the lives of the interviewees and the actors themselves in the original dramaturgy of the performance. Six different characters, pieced together from dozens of people, will meet in the space of the performance to relive their adolescence, or perhaps finally leave it behind.
At first glance, the creative process behind Life Before Us, a production by the Klaipėda Youth Theater actors and improvisation master K. Glušajev's theater school, reveals new perspectives. In the performance, the creators seek to think openly about the time we all experience: sometimes naively and brightly, sometimes darkly and rebelliously, and sometimes just blindly.
