Klaipėda Youth Theater: experiential performance "Dance Macabre"
New Year's Eve with Danse Macabre
December 31, 9:00 p.m. | Culture Factory, Klaipėda
The Klaipėda Youth Theater invites you to celebrate New Year's Eve in a different way – not in a noisy crowd, not rushing among fireworks, but on an impressive theatrical journey where life and death meet not to frighten, but to remind us that here and now is our only true celebration.
And, of course, the New Year's Eve ritual with festive champagne, when viewers raise their glasses together to the courage of a new beginning, to the joy of life, and to the fact that from now on we will not put anything off "until next time."
Hello, living ones,
You are invited to the long-awaited opening of our restaurant! Unfortunately, we were unable to open it while we were still alive, but we realized that this was not an obstacle – it is still standing and we can still open it, even now. It will not be sad, because live music and rhythms will accompany us throughout the evening. Maybe there will be torches, maybe something will fly from the sieve, we are still deciding on that. Either way, an unforgettable opening night awaits.
We are certain that our dreams will come true. Now we are absolutely sure.
So be it. We want to share this evening with you.
Danse Macabre is a musical experiential performance inspired by Latin American magical realism literature and rhythmic music. You are invited to the opening party of an afterlife restaurant, where the stories of five characters intertwine. The performance explores the theme of unfulfilled wishes, desires, and dreams, while using humor, absurdity, and irony to examine the theme of death, raising the question: what does it mean to live here and now?
