Based on Justinas Marcinkevičius’s poem “The Spider’s Wedding,” this musical performance for children, created by the Klaipėda Youth Theater, is a witty and instructive story as well as a musical allegory that highlights our own flaws. During the performance, the audience will meet the impressive and menacing spider Tabalai, his minions—the beetles—and the little birds defending the sun from the spider. And they won’t just meet them—the entire audience, both children and their parents, will be able to join in the fray and the battle for the sun themselves.

The play *The Thief’s Wedding* stands out for its unexpected set design choices. The actors create their costumes and props from simple, yet seemingly rediscovered objects—for example, work gloves are transformed into bird feathers. This choice by the creators is no accident. The actors at the Klaipėda Youth Theater aim not only for children to have a wonderful time at the theater, but also to develop their imagination and fantasy and to unleash their boundless creative potential.
