12-year-old Abdel, who lives in a poor suburb, is smart and eager to learn. His dream is to become a veterinarian. However, when his friend Bashir starts dealing with a local gang, Abdel is unwillingly drawn into criminal activity. When Bashir gets into trouble, Abdel tries to help him and accidentally reveals the location of the gang's hideout. A rival gang launches a retaliatory raid, one of its members is killed, and Abdel is blamed for the murder. With this
film, the director raises the question: how can a child survive in an environment where circumstances do not allow him to be a child?
