Cinema masterclass for Lithuanian filmmakers: "Creating engaging stories"

We invite film enthusiasts, professionals, and students to participate in the first series of professional filmmaking seminars organized in western Lithuania!
Creating an engaging story – an open lecture and practical film scriptwriting workshop with screenwriter and director Gailė Garnelytė. The open lecture will delve into the structure of screenwriting and the laws of dramaturgy, analyzing Gailė Garnelytė's short documentary film Robot and the Butterfly, while the screenwriting workshop will provide practical experience in the principles of character creation.

Gailė Garnelytė: screenwriter and director. Author and co-author of various short feature film scripts, author and consultant of documentary film scripts. Her short film debut, Robot and Butterfly, has been screened at more than 30 film festivals around the world and has won two awards for best short documentary film. She is currently finishing directing a feature-length documentary film, Sutikau žmogų (I Met a Man), which received funding from the Lithuanian Film Center in 2023. In 2017, Gailė Garnelytė founded the creativity education center Kurk, where she teaches screenwriting and creative writing.

This is the first seminar/workshop in a series of monthly events. Later, we will delve deeper into topics such as lighting, video production, and the prospects of the film industry.
