AUTUMN MARATHON: Musical performance "How green looks…" (directed by V. Masalskis)
"It was terribly hot; the gray-yellow houses were gnashing their teeth… and the people, tormented by the heat, walked slowly, as if dazed. I looked at them for a long time and missed the meadows, trees, and greenery terribly—you know, the greenery of May. Suddenly, I got up and walked my whole life, searching for it in vain in that city…
Prieleliau, explain to me what the color green looks like? .." (excerpt from M.K. Čiurlionis' fairy tale).
The creators of the performance invite you to discover the "third Čiurlionis" – the writer. Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis not only created art and music, but also never put down his pen during his entire ten-year artistic career. Čiurlionis wrote in Polish and did not publish his works.
On the occasion of M.K. Čiurlionis' 150th birthday, we invite you to a free event, the Autumn Marathon Musical Evening. The musical performance combines Čiurlionis' fairy tales, psalms, and music – choral works, symphonic poems, nocturnes, and piano preludes. It is a ritual procession inviting you to rediscover Čiurlionis – as a composer, poet, and thinker.
