This workshop is for anyone who wants to experience creativity through the lens of sustainability, reuse, and materiality. Participants will learn about the principles of cardboard redesign: how ordinary packaging can become a functional object, a small piece of furniture, or even a handbag!

About Indrė Butkų

Indrė Butku is an artist and designer of objects and furniture who creates sustainable, conceptual objects with a particular focus on reused materials. In recent years, she has been working exclusively with cardboard packaging waste and her own bio-based adhesives, seeking to reduce her ecological footprint and raise questions about consumption.

Indrė studied design in England, and her career as a designer was enriched by working with Lithuanian manufacturing companies and visiting international design exhibitions in Milan, London, and Cologne. However, she is most inspired not by industrial perfection, but by the real stories behind objects: traces of use, the natural aging processes of materials, and the life of "suitable" and "unsuitable" objects in the human environment.

Her works have been presented both in Lithuania and internationally, including at Imm Cologne in Germany, New Designers in London, and the installation Žvėriškas instinktas (Animal Instinct) at the TheATRIUM theater festival in Klaipėda.

Indrė's work is based on a simple but meaningful formula: harmony with people and the environment is more important than perfectionism.
