SPEKTRAS:
Invisible Stories

The play “Spectrum” invites us to take a closer look at our differences—our ability to see, hear, and feel the world in different ways. Created according to the principles of the “Atviras ratas” theater laboratory, this performance—based on real people’s stories and improvisations born during rehearsals, and incorporating elements of storytelling—invites you to pause and see the stories we often overlook. To listen to the voices we don’t hear in our daily lives.

Director Justas Tertelis, the actors, and the entire creative team, as they explore the unique worlds of people living with neurodiversity, invite us to see neurotypical people from a different perspective—to broaden our view and rethink the boundaries of normality. In the play “Spectrum,” we will experience a whole range of stories that will help break down stereotypes about people with autism and gain a deeper understanding of the world around us.

The play is based on the book *Autism – A Part of Me* by Jurgita Žalgirytė-Skurdenienė and Barbora Suisse. This book likely presents, for the first time in Lithuania, the stories of adults with autism, offering a better understanding of the daily life of a person living with an autism spectrum disorder—the challenges they face and the ways to overcome them.
